Why COMTEC®

About COMTEC® Mfg, LLC

COMTEC® Mfg, LLC is a manufacturer of highly engineered OEM metal components utilizing the conventional powdered metal/sintered metal process producing parts from both ferrous and non-ferrous materials. We provide our customers with solutions/alternatives to other more costly metal forming processes to satisfy their requirements for production line product with part design assistance, excellent quality, competitive pricing, and on-time delivery.Founded in 1987 and privately held in Saint Marys, PA we operate from 56,800 square feet on 18 acres. We are strategically located in a region that offers a substantial industry base supporting the powdered metal part processing activities. Companies engaged in building molding, sintering, and finishing equipment, heat treat and temper, various plating finishes, post-production machining processes, tooling, gauge and fixture construction, raw material composition pre-mixing, and non-destructive testing are some of the region’s complimenting businesses to our industry.

Product types include Gears (pinion, rack, bevel, helical, spur), sprockets, ratchets, pawls, cams, magnetic response parts (rotors, stators, solenoid cores, pole pieces), collars, wire guides, retainers, valve stops, shift forks/levers, pulleys, jaws, inserts, latch plates/latches, drive couplers, locking plates, timing plates, hubs, valve seats/guides, compression limiters, pivot terminals, and bus bar components.

Raw materials include both ferrous and non-ferrous alloys which include all admixed or pre-alloyed iron and steel base, 300 and 400 series stainless steel alloys, soft magnetic alloys, pure copper, brass alloys, bronze alloys, and nickel silver alloys. To compliment increased physical properties of these materials COMTEC® is equipped to sinter stainless steel up to 2350 degrees F, and all ferrous based material up to 2400 degrees F.

Our process offers “net shape” configurations with multi-level pressing capabilities resulting in components with two, three, four, five, and six levels throughout the molding direction with uniform density. This approach minimizes costly post manufacturing machining processes.

The name “COMTEC” is derived from the words “COMponent TEChnology” which remains the focus of our service to the customer.
