Primary Equipment Capabilities

We dedicate our expertise in manufacturing custom engineered powdered metal components to serving the needs of the customer through application identification and design assistance to ensure a high quality product, at a lower cost, delivered when the customer wants it.

MOLDING

COMTEC® has twenty-one molding presses ranging from 4 tons through 825 tons, possessing capabilities to produce up to six level net shape molded parts with the operation of multi-action tooling.  This capability affords us the opportunity to incorporate much of a part’s configuration into the molding process and relying less on post manufacturing machining processes to complete components to customer’s specifications.

SINTERING

COMTEC® operates five continuous conveyor sintering furnaces with capabilities up to 2350° Fahrenheit in both our ferrous and stainless steel facilities.  Furnaces range from 12 inch dual zone up through 28 inch eight zone.  In addition, we have the capability to sinter in high purity 100% gaseous hydrogen or gaseous nitrogen based atmospheric conditions.  This capability allows for our sintering process to produce higher performing ferrous alloys, 400 series stainless steel, 300 series stainless steel, 17-4 PH stainless steel, and soft magnetic alloyed materials.

CNC MACHINING

COMTEC® has in-house CNC machining centers with post manufacturing processing capabilities for milling, turning, drilling, and tapping.
